Been a while...

Last few weeks have been a bit of a rollercoaster - hence the lack of posts. Threw myself into work last week and got back on the wagon. Managed to stay off the booze for 11 days (with a small break in between for a gorgeous bottle of 96 Penfolds Bin 389). Ate well, exercised, etc.

Then, Friday night. Thud! Vague recollections of meandering around some grubby club trying to find Niss whilst suffering nasty quadruple vision. Wierd Asian guy berated me and was lurking in the girls' toilets. Slightly angry, mostly confused. 10am finish - we all went back to Brunswick and I lost my phone somewhere. Can't remember much at all. Karma must like me though - the phone was returned! Nice work by that (anonymous) cab driver.

Saturday was written off (had meant to go down the coast) but at least we made it down to Wilson's Prom on Sunday. The weather was magnificent and we had a cheeky swim. Can't believe we can still go to the beach in June - climate change is quickly becoming a reality. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the year that the Earth goes to sh*t.

What have I learnt? Time to look after the lady better. You can't take your future wife to a place like that and get that wrecked. We're like a slow motion train wreck - hurtling towards the inevitable tragedy that will make us change, but neither willing nor able to exercise the metaphorical brakes (self control).
