Whassup?

Been a while... What's been happening?

First of all, went away to Dampier for a cracking trip with my dad, uncle and brothers. As members of the North West Game Fishing Club, we get the yearly opportunity to visit a beautiful island (complete with nesting turtles and rock wallabies) and do some amazing fishing. We also got a lot of sun and had a good time looking around at the North-West's stark (but beautiful) landscapes. Additionally, we bought home 90kg of beautiful fish fillets which will serve us well over the next twelve months until we can stock up again!

Secondly, bombing in London. Thankfully it was not as bad as it could have been but it seems that terrorism is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Terrorism is, IMO, a product of the media. The media does a lot of good in furthering the cause of the impoverished and in highlighting the need for action in times of famine, genocide and other atrocities. However, certain sections of the media (thank you Mr Murdoch) also have a habit of sensationalising incidents and giving terrorists an audience.

Name a peaceful protest (much harder to organise) that has stuck in the mind like 9/11, Bali and London. Bill Gates couldn't afford the primetime advertising that events like 9/11 receive.

Nice one!

Looks like we're actually going to do the good thing and looking after our neighbours:

If Timor is actually receiving 50% of the tax/royalties for the project (as reported on the ABC), it is truly a boon for the region and a shining example of good international citizenship.
